Indonesia’s rumbling Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki has erupted with a column of volcanic materials as high as 11 miles into the sky and ash falling on villages. The volcano has been at the highest alert level since last month and no casualties were immediately reported from Monday’s eruption. Indonesia’s Geology Agency recorded an avalanche of searing gas clouds mixed with rocks and lava traveling up to 3 miles down the slopes. Indonesia’s Geology Agency chief says the danger zone around the volcano would be reevaluated. A no-go zone within a 4-mile radius of the volcano was already in place.
